The World Vision Experience: AIDS
World Vision, a well-known Christian humanitarian organization, has been deeply involved in working with the AIDS crisis since 1990. Their involvement began by creating a program to help children orphaned by AIDS in Rakai, Uganda. Currently, World Vision is in more than 60 countries operating compassionate and effective AIDS prevention and care programs.
AIDS is the greatest humanitarian crisis of our time. Entire generations of children have been orphaned due to AIDS. This has created a generation of children who are at great risk for harm and in great need of support, resources, advocacy, and love.
The Precious.org community is a community of people who support adoption and also who have a heart for the needs of world’s orphans. If the number 143 million seems daunting, add to this that each day 6,000 children become orphans due to AIDS.
What this boils down to is 20 million more orphans in the world by the year 2010.
In response to this, World Vision has created the World Vision Experience: AIDS.
This is an interactive exhibit that has combined audio and photography to transport the viewer into the heart of the African AIDS crisis. The exhibit is guaranteed to provide a new prospective on the AIDS crisis and give each person a chance to take the love they feel for the children and turn it into action.
The World Vision Experience: AIDS will be at churches and in communities around the United States. Tickets, which are free of charge, may be reserved ahead of time.
